Mission

Working closely with the Archbishop, the Office for Divine Worship has as its mission to promote liturgical renewal and to offer support to the clergy, the laity and archdiocesan offices in liturgical matters.

What the Office Does

* Provides clarification regarding liturgical rites/directives.
* Responsible for the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Provides training and updates rubrics as needed. (Read Guidelines promulgated by Archbishop Mansell, April 16, 2006, [pdf format] (Spanish version).
* Arranges educational seminars for lay liturgical ministries.
* Conducts funeral planning seminars. Coordinates the distribution of the Archdiocesan Funeral Planning Guidelines developed by the office.
* Reviews renovations of churches and chapels.
