Fundraising and Grants Help Provide Catholic Students with iPads
Eighth grade students and teachers from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, in Meriden have been presented with the iPad 2 to use during the academic year.
The school was able to purchase the iPad 2’s as a result of a very successful fundraiser, which garnered the support of teachers, parents, school board members, pastors and parishioners.
St. Bridget School in Manchester is another Catholic school that will be using the iPad 2. They were able to purchase a portable Apple Learning Lab equipped with 25 iPad 2 lap tops.
During the month of October, students in seventh and eighth grades will be part of a pilot program using paperless quizzes. The iPads will be used primarily by the seventh and eighth grade students, but other grades will benefit from them as well.
St. Bridget received a grant through HOPES (Help Our Parish Elementary Schools), which enabled them to purchase the portable learning lab. |
